Easter Blessings and a Card

Blessed Good Friday wishes to all who celebrate! There will be no family time for us this Easter weekend as I’m still fighting this virus and sharing it with those I love will not be appreciated.

Last weekend we had snow; this weekend Joe cut the grass. I hope once spring comes, it stays on a more normal course and summer does the same. So far April has been very wet!!!....so I hope it brings May flowers!

Today’s card meets the requirements for these blog challenges.

This is one of the cards I made as a possible card for my daughter’s birthday; but didn’t choose it for her in the end. As I look at it again, I’m pretty sure she would have liked it. Too late now but she did like the one I sent her so that’s good.

The background started out as a piece of white cardstock and various colours of Distress Inks were sponged on. Then I die cut the flower from it using a Die-Namites die; then die cut just the flower from hot pink cardstock; then the leaves and stems from green cardstock. The flower portion of the die was then used as a embosser using pink cardstock. The textured pink cardstock was glued behind the area where the flower was die cut from the background and then the hot pink flower petals were glued down. Because the light pink was embossed with the die, it fit together just fine. Love this look. Then the greenery was glued down. The largest leaf on the left side has an open cut so it was backed with another piece of green. It looked odd being without something behind it when inlaid. Once everything was inlaid in place water was splashed on to create those lovely textured blooms...they remind me of rain drops. The sentiment is a peel-off.

That’s all for a cool but sunny Good Friday, April 14, 2017. More rain predicted for this weekend so I’ll be grounded again.

Cheers

Violet

  6. Great card. I love the colors, they are so bright and uplifting.
I'm in London Ontario and I can relate to the weather. It has been a strange start to Spring, hasn't it?
Happy Easter, and I hope you are feeling better soon.
