SNOW IN MAY? This should not happen. I happened to wake up
about 3:00 and looked out the window and almost fell over when I saw the snow
coming down…hard! It must have quit shortly after that because it was just
enough to cover the lawn when we got up. My poor tulips. Here’s what they
looked like in the snow. Tulips in the snow is a nature oxymoron.
I
have a few unusual coloured daffodils in my garden too. Here are two of them.
Today’s card was made using a photo of one of the most
beautiful warblers that grace Southwestern Ontario every spring….the
Prothonotary Warbler.
Having
Photoshop Elements makes it easy to get the sentiment printed on the card. The
photo was mounted on white, then yellow cardstock. A ribbon was wrapped around
it with a bow tied. The card base is from a set from Michaels and I struggle
how to use these ones. So finally the top was covered with that brown cardstock
with words printing on it and the curved areas were just cut off and the edges
lightly sanded to make them smooth. Then a matching piece about 2” high was
added to the bottom of the inside. It seemed to work. Then the main image was
glued in place. My friends and family love receiving these cards with my bird
photos on them.
That’s all for a cold and snowy-during-the-night Monday,
May 11th, 2020.
Cheers
Violet
