I
decided to leave the house today and run some errands. I did most of my
shopping on line this year because I just didn’t feel up to shopping in stores….besides,
living in a small town means, less choice! We draw names for the adults and just
buy for the kids anyway so it’s not a huge shopping list. We all agreed that it
is the get-together good times we have that we enjoy more than the gifts so we
have pretty much taken the commercialization of Christmas out of it.
I
do have three more Christmas cards to post but this time I decided it was time
to post a birthday card for a man. I’m having less trouble making these now
that I have a few stamps geared toward men….especially the Tim Holtz stamps.
This card features one of his stamps.
Using
up more paper from the stash is such a good feeling! I just grabbed my bag of
green left over paper and pulled out the ones that matched and yet provided
some contrast at the same time. The old car was stamped with some Distress ink
because I wanted that blotchy look. I think the sentiment is from a Hot Off the
Press stamp set. I’m glad I bought up some of those small acrylic dew drops when
they were on sale because I haven’t seen them in the stores for over a year and
they do add a bit of sparkle to a card – even for a man.
That’s
all for a Friday. Have a great weekend everyone.
Cheers
