I'm posting my Bellariffic card entry tonight that I usually post on Friday's. That's because we are changing Internet services tomorrow and not sure if I will have a computer up and running - not that I'm thinking negatively but, let's face it, these things happen!
But before I post the card I'm going to give you my pet peeve for the week. Fur on coat collars! Why is it that every single coat manufacturer decided this year that every collar of every coat had to have fur on it. Hate it. Whether it's real (definitely would not wear that) or fake - hate that too but not for the same reason. I just wanted a simple ski jacket and I there were exactly two jackets that were there without fur - likely left over from last year but at least I got one. The funny thing is when we went to our local mall on Wednesday the Sears just had the one coat without fur. We both agreed it was OK but it would have been nice to have a choice. Joe suggested we do not buy it and we take a trip up to Sarnia to the larger mall with more selection. So, that's what we did after I came home from Aqua Fit today. Same store, more selection, and I ended up buying the same coat we looked at here in town. I had warned him this might happen but he didn't believe me at the time. Oh well, it was a day out of the house so we just laughed it off!
So here's the card for this week. The Stamping Bella challenge was to use snow on the card and using one of her stamps of course.
I used a sketch from another blog (http://alwaysplayingwithpaper.blogspot.ca/) to create a card that can go in both challenges. The paper is from a 6 inch pack and I cut the one on the right so that the Merry and Bright would show, then I just cut the other two to make a 5.5 card and taped them together, after inking all the edges of course. I hate white edges - almost as much as fun on coats! (I know, I know, let it go!) Anyway the image was coloured with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol, except for the bow which I wanted a deeper red so I used a Tombow marker. The tag was die cut with a Sizzix die and then I stamped the sentiment using a stamp that came with a .99 stamp from Hot off the Press. I added the gold link chain and snowflake from a peel-and-stick package. The square was a Spellbinder's and so was the Peony die cut piece behind the stamped image. I still think the colour is off on my camera but I was too tired tonight to play with it.
