We are still enjoying record breaking high temperatures for
November here in Ontario
– it was around 72F this afternoon! We decided first thing this morning to head
over to Port Huron to stock up on our veggie food we cannot buy in Canada –
Morningstar Farms is missing out big time by not selling in Canada. Of course
the trip included lunch at our favourite Chinese food buffet, Chan’s, a quick
trip into Hobby Lobby – didn’t buy much as nothing I was looking for was on
sale or they didn’t have and then a visit with one of our long time friends
from when Port Huron had a hockey team. When we came across the Blue Water
Bridge late in the
afternoon we took a drive down along the river under the bridge and decided to
enjoy some fresh cut french fries for supper. We were surprised the chip truck
was still there. These are about the only french fries I like…..fresh cut, not
frozen. We sat on a bench along the river and enjoyed the warm weather and
fries. We can’t usually do that in November so we took advantage of it. It was
a long day but a good day.
Today’s card is a birthday card I made with one of my new dies.
This die is so versatile. It can be used for almost any
occasion. This time I die cut it from the light blue and some left over brown
that matched the brown in the patterned paper which was also die cut so I could
set the blue inside the negative space. The little gift, small flowers, and the
sentiment are peel-offs and they were tinted blue with alcohol ink. The silver
peel-offs are easier to colour than the gold ones. Once the die cutting was
done, it was pretty quick to put together.
That’s all for a lovely warm November,
Cheers
Violet
I'm so glad you are enjoying a warm November and it sounds like you had a lovely day. We have been warm and beautiful too. BUT this coming Sat and Sun night i think we are hitting the 30's.. first time this year...but then we seem to warm back up again so no complaints... Much needed rain expected tomorrow! :) Beautiful card! I can see the versatility of that die but i'm not a huge fan of it. I think maybe its too modern looking for my tastes?... But i like how you use it and your color combinations.Hugs! deb
