Merry Monday Christmas Card

It's a little odd to be posting a Christmas card on Easter weekend but a lot people think I'm a little odd most days so I guess it won't matter!

Yesterday hubby and I headed off to Point Pelee National Park for our first walk of the season there. I was well prepared with my binoculars around my neck - binoculars harness actually - and my camera swung over my shoulder ready to photograph the birds. Well, we walked for several miles thru the bush but I was a little over optimistic about how many birds there were to photograph. We did see some Brown Creepers, Eastern Phoebe, Golden Crown Kinglets, Winter Wren, Wild Turkey and a Bald Eagle. But, alas, they were too far away and/or moving constantly to get a good picture. I did take some and they were good enough for us to identify them later (hubby forgot the bird book at home) but not good enough to keep and print. Oh well, its early yet and it was so nice to be hiking in the bush instead of in the city.

So, back to the card. The "always playing with paper" blog has a sketch each week and the only requirement is to make a Christmas card. Here's mine.
I had a package of blank cardstock cards in Christmas colours and I decided it was time to use them. I ran a piece of white cardstock thru the Cuttlebug with the snowflake embossing folder and rounded to top. I was going to put a piece of coloured cardstock behind as a mat bu decided I liked it just the way it was. The other paper is from my stash. The red snowflake was die cut from the Spellbinder's die, as were the circles, of course. The snowman is from Inkadinkado. Although my tennis elbow is getting a little better I'm still not doing much colouring so I'm using stamps that require little colouring, which is good actually. I'm using stamps I don't usually choose.  I added some bling to some of the snowflakes and glitter around the snowman. Gotta have some bling.

  2. What a sweet little snowman--bright & cheerful! Your birding expedition sounds wonderful....I've seen most of them but never the kinglet or the creeper! I can never get photos either! Thanks for playing with us this week at Merry Monday!
