Gingerbread Card

Sick! I hate being sick. I'm never sick! I get weird things like brain disorders, but I don't get sick. But today I have a very sore throat and I can see white blobs on the back of my throat.  Quite honestly I haven't felt well for the last 3 or 4 days but I thought I was a) tired from not sleeping because brain disorders attack in the middle of the night and b) the pain of a) makes me tired because I refuse to take pain medication and c) allergies. I'm thinking now that I just have a plain old sore throat. Hubby said his was a bit sore yesterday too but he's not feeling sick. Time will tell.

Today I'm posting a Christmas card. I have most of my Christmas cards done for the year. This one I did for the Merry Monday Challenge back in the summer but either I forgot to post it to their web site or I didn't finish it by the deadline. It has been sitting in my "to post" folder for awhile so I thought today would be a good day for it.

The card base was made from red cardstock and then I used the left over pieces to die cut the fancy strip using the Spellbinder Edgeabilities die - my one and only one! The other paper is from the stash and the edges were inked with red ink. The sentiment label was stamped using a Fiskars stamp and then I just cut around it leaving about an 1/8" border. The sentiment itself is from a different stamp set from Paper Wishes but not sure what company made it.  The gingerbread men were stamped on water colour paper and then coloured with various browns and yellows with water colour pencils and spread with plain water. They were cut out separately, the edges inked with brown ink and mounted on foam dots for dimension. The icing on their arms and legs look silver in the picture but it actually white.

  1. HI Violet!!

The white globs on the back of your throat are a pretty good indication of Strep Throat.....it is contagious and i think you may have to go to the doctor to get rid of it....antibiotics or something....I just know whenever my kids had a sore throat i always looked for white spots at the back of the throat to know if it was Strep or not and if it meant a trip to the doctor $$....Feel better soon! Hubby too! Hugs! deb
