A Bellariffic Friday Card

I haven't been out of the house all week so not much to report except I did get my card made for the Stamping Bella challenge - but forgot to send it in until this morning. It seems I've lost a day somewhere along the week and I thought today was Thursday. Oh well, I sent it to her anyway and she may add it to her blog or may not. If not, here it is.

I actually followed the sketch! The image was coloured with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol and then chalk was brushed around her for the sky and the ground. The yellow rectangle is from one of the new Spellbinder die sets I bought at the Paper Pickle. Love this set. I have used it on cards and for scrapbook layouts. All the paper is from the never-seems-to-go-down stash. This image works well for a birthday card for the teen or pre-teen girl.

But wait, there's more to the story. I've mentioned that I've been under attack of the brain disorders and sometimes the concentration level is just not there. I took the sketch for this week's challenge down to the lower studio and made this card.

As you can tell, once again I followed the sketch. I was quite pleased with it until it dawned on me that I think this was a wood mounted stamp and none of Stamping Bella's are wood mounted. This is one of the many, many images I stamped in April and set aside to color later on. I double checked and yes, it was wood mounted and was one of the ones that came in a bag of mixed stamps I bought at the thrift store months ago and had never used. It's actually a Penny Black stamp. Oh well, it was stamped and coloured and needed to be made into a card. This one can be used for a congratulations card for moving out on her own, or moving on to college, etc.

That's it for today. Another weekend is upon us. Make it a good one!
