November has arrived!

November has come in just like October left – high winds and rain. Miserable, ugly day today. The rain sure put a damper on last night’s activities (I know bad pun). By 7:15 we only had about 20 kids including three teenagers just collecting food for the food bank but I insisted they take some candy too. Usually by that time I’m half out of candy. By 7:30 there were no kids to be seen up and down the street so I closed down operations. Before I had all the lights out a few kids showed up. Not sure where they came from but there they were. None until after 8:00 and even though the lights were all off they knocked on the door, and again at 9:00 two teenagers knocked on the door. In total, about 30 kids. Oh boy do we have candy left over. I had a box of 125 chocolate bars and I don’t really like chocolate very much so Joe has a lot of chocolate to eat. I think a lot of it is going into the freezer for the grandkids later on.

This is Friday so it’s another Bellariffic Friday card using a Stamping Bella stamp.

Turns out this stamp has been discontinued. Oh well, who knew. It makes a very cute card for a toddler and I use it quite a bit. I wasn’t crazy about the sketch she provided this week and a few others didn’t like it either – and some made a card that was very varied from the sketch! This one was coloured up with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol. The ovals are Spellbinder’s dies. The sketch called for a flower where I put a balloon brad but a flower on a child’s card just didn’t suit. The “wish big” sentiment is from another Stamping Bella stamp set. I may add some yellow Stickles around the candles now that I see it here.

I like next week’s challenge much better – just use two different Bella stamps on the card. Easy peasy.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Cheers

Violet

  1. we must be on the same weather way because we always have similar forecasts, at least it was warm last night! Hubby stayed home to pass out candy and he said not one trick-or-treater came after we left (we had a group of 30 with us tho so we were most everyone out!) then we got a few stragglers after. I like the card and who cares if the stamp is discontinued, it still works!
