Beach Boy Card

We had such a nice day yesterday. When I asked Joe what we were doing for the day (I’ve named him our social director and told him he has total control – but I have veto rights – he just shakes his head and mumbles something like, “I’m just a figure head around here”), anyway, he said he had two things in mind; either cut grass or go to Port Stanley to see a play. Seeing as he does the driving and he’s the one that cuts the grass I told him he could choose and I wouldn’t exercise my veto rights at all. He chose Port Stanley so off we went. Enjoyed a nice lunch out along the lake, watched another funny play and ended the afternoon with some of the best ice cream cones ever. Great day but I forgot to post anything to the blog.

I thought I better get a posting in today before we get busy again. First though, I had some very nice comments on the butterfly card I posted a few days ago. That stamp came from Sugarloaf Products but it was from 2003 and no longer available. I did find it on eBay for $2.00 though so you may find it there if you really want it.

Today I thought I’d post a card I made for a boy using a Magnolia image.

Once again it was coloured with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol. I have a birthday coming up and if I’m asked what I want, it’s going to be Derwent Intense Water color pencils. Ooops, off topic I know. Not sure why that thought jumped into my mind but back to the post. The image and the blue behind it were die cut using the Spellbinder Card Creator dies. The background clouds were made using a Stampin’ Up embossing folder and then blue ink was sponged around the clouds to hi-lite them. The paper below that came from a 6” paper pack from Studio G and it reminded me of waves so I used it. The brown paper looked like sand so that’s why it’s at the bottom. This paper is from the stash. The sea shells were from a package of mixed die cuts that my sister-in-law bought me about, gulp, 8 years ago and although I’ve used some, I sometimes forget about them. But the boy on the beach jarred my memory so I punched some out, removed the little stubs – which I HATE doing – and inked the edges and attached them with dimensional glue dots. The sentiment is a sticker.

That’s all for a Thursday,

Cheers
Violet
