Deboss and Emboss on the same Card

I had a question in the comments section about these Fiskar Fuse things. I’m not sure what they are called but they are hard grey plastic that deboss a design in cardstock – they call it a letterpress look. However, I checked Fiskar’s site and there is no mention of the Fiskar Fuse or Letterpress so I think this product did not go over well and is discontinued which is why the ones I picked up were so cheap. If you see them on clearance, pick them up and have fun.

Here is the third card that I made using the above “things”.

When I was going through the stash I found a piece of Core’dinations cardstock – the kind that has the white core – and I thought why not run this through and sand off the top. As I was running it through the Big Shot it dawned on me that these deboss, not emboss but oh well, might as well keep going. So the top around the debossed flowers were sanded and I quite liked the look. Hhmm the other side was rather blah so I ran the cardstock through an embossing folder and then sanded the top of it. Cool! I had a tiny piece of the same Core’dinations cardstock left over and wanted to stay with the emboss or deboss look so I took a word die and ran it through the Big Shot using a rubber pad underneath so it didn’t cut but left the impression. Then I went over the letters with a silver get pen and tied the tag on with a white ribbon. Clear gems on the flower centres finished it off nicely.

I broke down and bought the Tim Holtz crazy bird stamp set today at the Paper Pickle – and a Wink of Stella pen – so much fun colouring up these birds!

That’s all for a lovely Wednesday night,
Cheers
Violet
