What a long day today. My sister had an appointment with a cardiologist
in London for
10:00 and it’s a 2 hour drive if you don’t get behind a school bus, farm
vehicle or construction so we always give ourselves an extra hour. I was awake
at 5:30 so I got up. Her power went out and she didn’t wake up until 7:00 which
is the time she was suppose to pick me up. We left late but luckily it was
smooth sailing and we got her there just in time. Bad news is she needs to have
a heart procedure done so all prayers for a positive outcome from all religions
is welcome. She has already had 2 open heart surgeries so this is rather scary.
She’s a trooper though…….. I’m hitting the couch tonight and she is going off
to play cards and she’s 7 years older than me!
So today I thought I would show you the card I made with the
other Fiskar’s debossing discs. I’ve decided that’s what to call them- discs.
Think rubber stamp but in hard plastic.
Here is the picture of the package of the oval ones.
I already knew that I could ink the disc before running it
through the Big Shot from the experiments on the flower discs so I inked up the
oval one with the stitching and ran it through and here’s what I did with it.
The ink stayed in the debossed areas and I quite liked it. I
didn’t want to cover it up so I added the peel-off sentiment first. Then I die
cut the flowers but I cut them apart because they didn’t fit the way they were
joined. Then I die cut one extra one and glued them down where they fit better.
A small piece of ribbon was tied loosely in a bow on the long piece and then the
ribbon was wrapped around the cardstock and taped on the back. Once it was in
place I tightened the bow. Blue gems were added to the centre of each flower.
Once it was glued to the card base I ran blue ink around the edge. My friend
wanted an anniversary card for her son and daughter-in-law so I think this one
will do.
That’s all from a tired blogger on a Thursday,
Cheers
Violet
