A
bright and sunny but very windy day here in Ontario . This morning I had a couple of
errands to run to two different places so Joe decided he would go too and that
we should get some groceries while we were out…sounded like a good idea….. but then
he said we also needed to stop at the Bread Depot (best, freshest and cheapest
bread ever)…and he had to stop at the bank….and get gas…..and lets stop in at
Canadian Tire while we are there for that special pot cleaner you like….and we’ll
renew the license plate…..hoo boy. The license bureau is in a plaza and it was
in darkness and the electric company was there trying to fix the problem so that
was a wasted trip…..we made the second trip later on to get the sticker for the
license plate…and it was so busy! Instead of a couple quick errands and home it
took us hours….but then again, we stopped to chat with a friend we ran into and
then had Chinese food for lunch. The day is almost over and I haven’t made it
down to my lower studio (aka the basement) do make any cards or do some
scrapbooking….maybe after supper.
One
of my faithful readers, jinxxxygirl mentioned she had the scammer
saying she owed back taxes but she knew she didn’t so she didn't fal for it. Jinxxxygirl has her own
blog and is wonderful artist. Check it out at: http://learningtojustbreathe.blogspot.com
Anyway, if you
are new to the Internet be aware of those who track you down to try to scare
you into giving them money. Remember this:
a)
The government does not call you if you owe them
money. They send out letters or registered letters but they do not call. The
scammers will even threaten to send the police to your house if you don’t send
them money….tell them that would be a good idea and they should be there when
the police show up….they usually hang up then.
b) The other popular scam is the computer scam.
The scammer will call and say they are from Microsoft and they noticed your
computer was not working but they can fix it on-line if you pay them $$$ and
give them access to your computer. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS. Microsoft has no idea
who has their computers and MICROSFOT DOES NOT CALL PEOPLE to fix their
computers!
Enough about that. Here is today’s card.
This sweet image is from Stamping Bella but I have
no idea if it is still available or not. I had the background made ….from left
over pieces of paper taped together at the back…but never used it. Some days,
if I’m not sure what I feel like doing, I just sit and make backgrounds from
paper from the stash and set them aside to use when needed. This one was run
through a brick wall embossing folder as well. The image was coloured with
Prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol….my favourite way to colour images.
It was die cut with a Spellbinder’s die and then glued onto a piece of brown
and then I hand cut around the edge. The sentiment is from another word set and
it was stamped on brown cardstock and then I cut them apart and glued them on.
The entire thing was then glued to a Stampin’ Up blue card base. A bow was tied
and glued to the right edge.
That’s
all for a windy Tuesday, September 27, 2016.
Cheers
Violet
