Another
week has flown by and all of a sudden I realized next weekend is Christmas. How
did it get here so quickly? I have two quilts left to finish but we won’t be
seeing the family until after New Years so I have a bit of extra time.
It’s
extremely cold here and tomorrow is going to be a very nasty weather day – snow
and freezing rain. We won’t be venturing out at all. I did some errands today
and delivered my Christmas cards and the church’s newsletters to the people I
visit at the nursing home. I was very close to Michaels so I popped in – big mistake
– they had all everything Christmas on sale 70% off including dies and stamps.
Yup, stocked up on some stamps and some stamp with matching dies. I make
Christmas cards all year so they will come in handy.
Today’s
card is the one I made for my oldest grandson who loves cats.
This
is another House Mouse design – the mouse is sleeping on the cat which I think
my grandson will get a kick out of….and my daughter will shudder….she’s not
fond of mice! The image was coloured with Prismacolor pencils and blended with
gamsol. I’m loving my stitched dies and they just look so good on this card. I
like things on an angle sometimes and this card sort of called for it. The
background paper is from the stash. I had that little bit of ribbon left over
from another project and it was ideal for this card…but too small to tie into a
bow so I just folded it in half on an angle and secured it with a star brad. I
wanted the sentiment to be red as well so I used alcohol ink on a silver
peel-off to get one. The ornament was covered with Glossy Accents which really
makes it look real. I think Joven will like it.
Have
a wonderful and safe weekend everyone! That’s all for a very cold Friday,
December 16, 2016
Cheers
Violet
