The heat wave is intense! Temperatures today, with
the humidex added in, means it will feel like 46C (114.8F) and tomorrow is even
worse, 49C (120F). This is some crazy hot and humid weather which of course
creates some severe thunderstorms as well. We are staying put today…and
tomorrow.
After rejecting a few cards I made for our
grandson’s 12th birthday, which is today, I went in a totally
different direction and created this one….the one we sent.
This stitched die cuts out the frame plus the
stitched rectangles inside the frame…I just sponged some Distress Ink Broken
China, I think. onto them. This die is just a tiny bit bigger than the standard
A2 card size so I had to make the card base a little larger as well. The card
base was actually a 5.5 x 7 card so I just trimmed it down. Green is Seth’s
favourite colour so that’s why I used it. He also loves cats so three die cut
cats were added. The birthday greeting is from on old stamp set as are the
candles. I stamped the candles, cut them out by hand, and glued them onto the
bottom rectangle. Glossy Accents was added to the candles to make them look
more realistic….not that a 12 year old boy would notice…and the flames have
stickles added for some sparkle. Hope he likes it.
That’s all for a very hot and humid Friday, July
19, 2019. Stay cool, be safe and be creative over the weekend and I’ll be back
on Monday with another card.
Cheers
Violet
