Wild Flower Card

The dreaded heat and humidity is back! We are under yet another heat warning. The thermostat in the car read 34C (93.2F) as we were coming back from a medical appointment just after lunch….when you add in the humidity, it felt like over 100F. We are in for the day now….until I have to water the garden after supper that is.

Today’s card was supposed to be another thinking of you card for the hospice but when it was finished I decided it was way too cheery for a thinking of you card….so it became a birthday card.

The background was sponged with various inks…likely mostly Distress Inks but I use any water based dye ink that I grab first. The wild flowers are dies from Aliexpress and they were die cut out of white cardstock; dipped over and over into various inks until I was happy with the colours and glued in place. Then I decided they were not colourful enough so glitter was added. It was then that I realized that the glitter was not appropriate for a thinking of you card from the hospice so I stamped the sentiment on an Aliexpress fancy banner on cardstock that just happened to match the card base and turned it into a birthday card.

That’s all for a hot and humid Wednesday, July 10, 2019.

Cheers

Violet

  1. Glitter... Glitter is always appropriate... lol just kidding.. You did an incredible job on that background. Love it Violet! Warm and humid here too.. I think the next two days we cool down just a bit...enough to maybe open the windows to sleep then we warm right back up.. Hugs! deb
