A Haunted House Ooops to Okay Card

It’s a little cooler and overcast today and the rain tries to start but fizzles out after a few drops….for now that is. The fall colours are absolutely beautiful though. The colours are about the only thing I like about fall ….because it ‘falls’ into winter!

Today is another Halloween card – a little different than the other ones. This one is for the granddaughter and her fiancée. Joe keeps telling me she is too old for Halloween cards but I keep ignoring him. As long as she enjoys receiving them, I’ll keep making them.

 

This was not the way the card was supposed to look. I pulled out a piece of 6” paper from a Tim Holtz paper pack; cut it down to 5” and stamped the house and the trees……sponged on some Distress Ink….I meant to add more brown to the bottom of the house so it wouldn’t look like it was floating but forgot too ..oh well. Then I decided to stamp a sentiment at the top right corner of the card and even though I was using my T.H. stamp positioner, I did something wrong and it moved and smeared. Grrrrr. Well it was high enough that I could cut it off but then what? Well, I cut the bottom off as well; pulled out another piece of T.H. Halloween paper from the same pack; cut it down to 5.25” added more Distress Ink; stamped the skull at the top; mounted the house part; added some die cut ropes (I think Elizabeth Craft Designs); stamped the sentiment and decided it was okay to send…BUT when I laid it on the 5.5” white card base, I didn’t like it. The white just didn’t look right. So, I sponged on Distress Ink – mostly Peeled Paint I think – so it more or less matched the colours on the card itself and liked it much better.
