Chasing Bubbles layout

This page in the album is the one opposite the to the one I posted yesterday. Although they are single page layouts, I try to keep the colours similar so they don't clash in the album. I like things neat and tidy - and matching! They used to tease me at work because my earrings always matched my clothes,or were plain gold or silver. I have one daughter the same way. When she was little her socks and hair band had to match her clothes (and if possible even her undies) and yes, we are both born under Virgo.

Here's the page.

My sister blew bubbles and the boys ran after them over and over.
Such energy. They slept well that night!

The letters were printed out on plain paper and cut into various size circles. Then I just barely inked the edges with Broken China distress ink (my favorite blue ink). then I cut out the same size circles out of transparency and rubbed a little blue and red and yellow ink here and there to mimic actual bubbles and adhered them just around the edges. Some of the bubbles are popped up to add dimension.

The boys in the bubbles were easy to do too. In Photoshop Elements I removed the background around them (loosely, didn't worry about getting everything removed) and then shrunk them down and printed them out and followed the same procedure as per the lettering. It didn't work out exactly as I pictured it would, but acceptable.

You will notice that the pictures all have black edges. I do this quite often and it's quite easy. Just get a pen that will write on slick surfaces, lay a piece of scrap paper over the picture, about 1/8" from the edge and draw the pen straight down. Don't skip over using the scrap paper because sometimes the pen will skip and draw a line thru the picture - don't have to ask how I know this!
