CPS 257 Card - Cupcake Card

Last night was our monthly quilt guild meeting. We had a bake sale as well as our usual vendors, program, show and share, etc. I sell most of my cards at the guild meetings and we had a good time but the funniest thing that happened is the reaction to my hair. I had no idea anyone even paid attention to my hair and didn’t think letting it grow out would be the topic of several conversations. Some people walked right by me, then turned back to say they didn’t even recognize me at first. How odd. Maybe because it’s now curly? Which is another oddity.  My father had very curly hair and some of my siblings go from curly, to kinky, to wavy but I took after my mother’s Native Canadian side of the family and my hair didn’t like to curl even with curlers. Dead straight. But now it’s naturally curly. How can this be?  Maybe un-naturally curly would be more accurate. I had no idea hair follicles could change how they grew. Maybe I should ask Dr. Oz???

Anyway, back to the card of the day. This card is based on a sketch from CPS (http://cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.ca/)
I changed the circle to the cupcake which was die cut from a Sizzix die set, except for the candle which is a stamp that I cut out after stamping and colouring. The background paper was just plain pink so I used the same candle stamp and light pink ink and stamped the candle randomly. Some paper and lace from the stash was all I needed to finish it.
