A Snowflake is Winter's Butterfly Card

Hot and humid here today and 70% chance of a thunderstorm. Odd weather. One day we are wearing coats and the furnace is running, the next day its hot and humid. We got a lot of rain on Monday though so that was good.

Today's card is based on a sketch by the "Always playing with Paper" blog and this time I remembered their only rule - make a Christmas card!

I've had this stamp for a few years now....one of the first stamps I bought when I first decided to make my own cards....so I doubt if its available anywhere. I stamped it on white cardstock and embossed it with white embossing powder - same with the sentiment. Then, while they were still in the die, I rubbed Broken China Distress Ink on it, wiping off the excess ink from the stamped image. It needed something to set it off so I chose black to pick up the black in the ribbon. The strip down the middle is a peel and stick ribbon. This is quite a large stamp and it took the largest die in this label set (Spellbinders) to cut it out so I had to trace around the outside edge of it on the black cardstock and cut it out with scissors to frame it. I do this a lot and it's a pain, but it works.  The sentiment was cut out from another die set.  Digging around in my stash I found a piece of paper that had the same colours in so I cut two pieces from it, outlined in black again and assembled it all.
