"Hang in There" Bellariffic Friday card

This morning I had the pleasure of watching my sister receive an award for being an outstanding volunteer. I think they call it a Seniors Award of Excellence. She truly does deserve it as she volunteers for so many things - and enjoys every one of them. Talk about enjoying every day - this woman has it covered. She has survived not one, but two open heart surgeries. The first artificial valve they put in failed and luckily for her, they figured out just in time to rush her for surgery to replace it to save her life. First time her cardiologist had seen one fail. He is so happy that she is making every minute God has granted her count! He says its people like her that make what he does worthwhile. He gets annoyed with some people he saves only to have them sit on the couch and moan and complain. I couldn't be prouder of her.

Today's post is another card from Stampin' Bella. We were to make a card using a previously posted sketch. I think the one I picked was from March 18.

The card base was covered with the light green paper. Then I cut three strips of the patterned paper and three strips of the dark green about 1/4" wider. The patterned paper was then glued to the dark green in the middle and I ran a stitch along each edge. Hard to see the stitches in this photo but they are there.

I took a piece of white cardstock and lightly brushed Distress Inks, Mustard Seed in the middle and Broken China around the edge, before stamping the image. Instead of stamping the image with black ink and colouring it in, I decided to colour in the stamp with Tombow markers and stamping it. This gave it sort of a water colour affect. I did add a little colour to some areas and some Stickles here and there on the flowers and a few clear Stickles to the sky area. The tags are from Quickutz and the stamp is just part of a package I bought at the dollar store. This could be a Get Well card or a Thinking of you card for someone going thru a bad time in life.
