Woo wee! I actually left the house today! I’ve been inside
so much this winter I was beginning to feel institutionalized. When you start
running out of food, you pretty much have to go get groceries! No funny stories
to tell you today. It was a pretty boring outing actually, ran some errands,
went to the library, walked through the mall for a little exercise, ate lunch out, visited with the sister-in-law and got groceries.
Hats off to our Canadian athletes at the Olympics! Nine
medals to date. Excellent. I was watching the moguls and my knees hurt just
watching them and the luge!!! Now that is one scary sport. I’ll stick to riding my
bike around Rondeau
Park.
Last week I was flipping through my stash of left over paper
and found this beautiful piece of pink marbled paper and decided it was time to
make a card with it before it got ripped or creased. A friend of mine gave me a
few stamps she didn’t want and one of them was this beautiful butterfly stamp.
I love it.
I glued the paper onto a card base first. I stamped the
butterfly onto water colour paper with Archival ink and then rubbed on some
water colour pencils which were then blended with just plain water. Love how it
turned out. Once it was dry I cut it out and rubbed some black ink on the edges
and Walnut Distress Ink just along the edges barely onto the wings. The two
panels were die cut with a Spellbinder die, left into the die while I sponged
some Tim Holtz distress ink, Spun Sugar, into the middle part. This leaves a
lovely white lacy edge. Once they were glued in place I attached the butterfly
with a pop dot and added the sentiment.
And that’s it for a Tuesday.
Cheers
Violet
