Bellariffic Friday Card

OK, this May weather has taken an evil turn! Early in the week it was in the high 70F and now it's dropped down to the 40's and even 30's. Weird. One day we thought of putting the A/C on but didn't bother and last night the furnace kicked on. I had it set at 65F in case it turned colder then they thought, and it did. Brrrrrr. May is usually God's apology for February so not sure what's going on this year.

We did our annual run to the garden centre yesterday - in the cold and rain. I've always bought the flowers for the garden and Joe had no interest in going with me until he retired and I was hit with the brain disorders. That was in the fall 1999 so in the spring of 2000 he decides he's going with me to the garden centre. He asked me "What's your flower budget?" Dead silence. "Budget", I ask? This was not off to a great start I could tell but he just shook his head and said "Let's go". Whew! Smart man. Of course when it came to about $200 he almost fainted but he resigned to it pretty quickly. He knows I hate "bare spots" so there will be more trips to the garden centre as some of the perennials do not come up.

Speaking of budgets, one day he asked me what my crafting budget was. I really didn't know what to say so I said "It varies month to month". He just looked at me dumbfounded and shook his head and walked away. We budget differently apparently!

One of my weaknesses for crafting are Stamping Bella stamps. Love these. She has a challenge every week and I try hard to join in. This week she posted a picture and we were to make a card, using one of her stamps of course, based on something in the picture, or a colour from the picture. Here is my card for this week.

Another one of my favorite stamps. I know I say that about all of them don't I!! I decided to go with the colours in the photo she posted - the yellow and soft orange. This one is coloured with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol. Once again I die cut it with the Spellbinder's oval making sure I left the top ice cream out of the die so it didn't get cut off. Then I used the fancy oval to mount it on.  The blue sky and bit of green is chalk brushed on with a cotton ball. This stamp is actually pretty quick to colour up. There is glitter sprinkled on the skirt but it doesn't show up well in the photo.

Well another weekend is upon us. We were suppose to have a family BBQ get-together but not sure if that is going to happen when its this cold. What ever you have planned, I hope you enjoy it immensely.

  1. Hey;
    You are right, I got into the QA magazine. Unfortunately I have not used that Johnny Sew's product... do u think if you held steam from the iron an inch or 2 above it that would help lift it off?
    Let me know how u make out... the only other suggestion i have is soaking it in warm water for an hour or so.
