Season's Greetings Card in a Non-Tradional Colour

Yesterday afternoon our weather network reported that we were in a severe thunderstorm watch with possible damaging winds up to 100km (60 mph) and hail. Well that explains the storm in my head yesterday and today....although a little better today. I get better as the atmospheric pressure goes up. I made the mistake last night of watching the NHL game between Chicago and Boston - first game towards the Stanley Cup. There was nothing on TV worth watching so I read and kept my eye on the game. They tied it up and went into overtime so I sat with Joe and watched it. Still tied and it was almost 12:30 so I went to bed. He stayed up for the next period and saw Chicago win it - yay! Pretty quiet around here today but we are going for a walk if it continues to clear up.

I decided last night that I liked the sketch from www.alwaysplayingwithpaper.blogspot.com and the only rule is to use their sketch and make a Christmas card. Here's mine.

I'm not crazy about making all my Christmas cards in the traditional red and green colours. So this time I used teal. I ran some cardstock thru the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dot and the Snowflake embossing folders, cut them down and notched the ends. I added some teal ink around the edges and added them to a white card base. I stamped the sentiment in teal and embossed it with clear embossing powder and mounted it on a piece of left over teal paper from the stash. It already had the fancy cut bottom so I left it as it was. The card just didn't pop for me so I pulled out another piece of left over teal and added it under the banners. Luckily I never glue anything down until I get it exactly as I like it. I glued the large banner with the Swiss Dots down flat but I curled the ends of the other two up a bit with a paint brush handle and just glued the tops down. One more Christmas card ready for the season!
