Purple and Blue together???

I’m back! We were so busy on the weekend that I just didn’t have a chance to post anything. And, besides that, I had about 4 sleepless nights. No idea why but I just couldn’t get to sleep or stay asleep once I did doze off. So yesterday I was pretty much going thru the day half asleep. It was about 10:30 last night when I realized I had not posted anything. Once again, I was too tired and called it a night. Except for a wicked thunder storm that woke me up at 1:00 a.m. (which hubby slept through – incredible) I finally had a decent night sleep! It is quite cool here today so I headed for the upper studio for a change and I’m making another crazy quilt for a child with cancer which are distributed by ChildCan in London. The upper studio is actually a very large walk-in closet and has no air ducts there so it gets very hot and stuffy in the summer.

Thank you to those that posted the lovely comments on my photos of the Swallowtail Butterfly and flowers. Photography is one of my many passions and no, I don’t have one of those expensive cameras with the long lens. In fact, I only have a point-and-shoot camera – cannot change lens at all but it is a very good camera – Canon SX50 in case you need a new one….around $500.00.

Today’s card is another one using up bits and pieces. These are like making crazy quilts but with paper. You wouldn't think purple and blue would look good together, but they do.

The large “h” came from an embellishment page, as did the tags and present. The paper is from my stash. The small tags say Enjoy Your Day but I didn’t want to just stick them on so I punched out three small balloons using some left over paper from the blue behind the purple strip and used a blue pen to draw wavy lines down to behind the present for the balloon strings and then glued the small tags on top. I liked it much better. Another quick and easy card!

Cheers

Violet
