Monster Card

Definitely fall weather here in Ontario. Pleasantly cool during the day, very cool at night. We haven’t seen our two hummingbirds for the last two days so either we keep missing them or they have left for the south. The birds are starting to move now so it’s not unusual to see flocks of Canada Geese flying overhead and the Blue Jays will be arriving by the hundreds any day now. We love to go to Point Pelee when the trees and skies are full of Blue Jays. They are lovely but they can’t sing any better than I can – and that’s pretty bad.

Halloween is coming soon so I whipped up a card that a child having a birthday in October might like.

It’s not really Halloweenish except for the little monsters, which were coloured with water colour pencils. Rectangle dies are Spellbinders. I hand cut the star from a template from Paper Wishes and the presents are a sticker. Both the star and the presents are attached with dimensional glue dots. The star was sponged with purple ink and I stamp FUN across it. The ribbon is from the stash. I think I bought this from a friend of mine who didn’t want it any more. The balloon looks shiny because I put on a coat of Glossy Accents which really makes it look like a shiny balloon. This card would be good for a boy or a girl and that's always nice.

Yesterday I mentioned that The Frugal Crafter had a free tutorial on how to watercolour flowers. I headed down to the lower studio yesterday afternoon and tried it. Let’s just say it is easy to see it was a “first try”. Lordy, lordy, lordy do I need to practice before I post any of them! But I must say it was fun to do but not even close to even my low standards! I love to watercolour with my pencils and water but with a brush its a whole new ballgame!

 Cheers

Violet
