You're Tea-fiffic

Fall winds are trying hard to dislodge the leaves but some seem to be hanging on pretty tight. One of our neighbours goes out just about every day and rakes the few maple leaves that fall but within a few hours you can’t tell he did it. Joe just runs them over with the mulcher because we get mostly leaves from the birch tree that are pretty small.  When the weeping mulberry tree loses its leaves we do have to rake them up because they are too big to mulch. Joe was pretty sure the wind would blow most of the leaves off the lawn but I think they got too wet from the downpours we had last week and they don’t move far once they hit the ground. Getting rid of leaves – one of the joys of fall!

I thought I post a card using one of the new .99 stamps from Hot Off the Press – aka Paper Wishes!

The tea cup and the sentiment that says “You’re Tea-riffic” came with the set. I stamped it on white cardstock and coloured it with Tombow markers. It was die cut with a Spellbinder’s die and then I die cut a larger one in pink and two small ones for the sentiment using the same die set. I ran a piece of white cardstock thru the Cuttlebug to emboss with a Fiskar’s embossing plate and then gently rubbed some light pink ink over the embossed areas. I wanted the background very light so the tea cup would be the focal point. A pretty pink ribbon was glued down the middle and then all the other components were glued on and a tiny pink bow was added to the bottom of the sentiment. Then the entire thing was glued to a pink card base. I’m liking this little tea cup stamp a lot! It could be used for a thinking of you or a birthday card.

And that’s it for a Monday.

 Cheers

Violet
