Old Bicycle Card

It’s December 4th and it is suppose to get up to 52F here today. Obviously no snow here and our grass is as green as can be. In fact two of our neighbours cut their grass this week which was a bit of overkill as far as Joe is concerned.

Today’s card was made with the Memory Box old bicycle die and my new Tim Holtz embossing folder.

I made a black card first. Then I ran some paper that had printing and drawings on it through the engineering embossing folder – at least that’s what I’ve named it. It came with the gears embossing folder – two for one! Then it was lightly inked with walnut Distress Ink. It was a rummage through the stash to find something to glue the bicycle on and luckily I found this dark brown paper that barely needed trimming to fit the card. I wanted some hinges on the edge so I traced around some Tim Holtz grunge board hinges I had onto black cardstock and cut them out. Once I use his hinges, I’m out of them so I had to use them as templates. Then I added small gold dots are left on the sheets from peel-and-stick corner stickers.  I actually die cut the bicycle twice and glued the red one on top of a black one, off sided, to give it a shadow. The brass bearings on the bicycle are from Paper Wishes. The sentiment and the little doodad below it are from some peel-and-stick sheets.

Tomorrow I’ll post what I did with the piece of red that I die cut this bicycle out of.

Until then,

Cheers

Violet
