A Shiny Birthday Card on a Cold Day

We are still under a severe winter cold warning. With the wind factor it will feel like -34C (-29F). We cannot remember a winter as cold as this one – or as much snow.  Good job we stocked up well on groceries last time we got them, about 11 days ago, although we are running out of fresh fruit. Sure hope spring is extra nice to make up for this!!!

Today’s card was made using one of the Memory Box dies. I love their dies.

This beautiful shiny paper, both the background and the strip, were in a mystery bag that I picked up at the thrift store a couple of weeks ago. It looked like a 6x6 pack but the cover was gone so I have no idea who made it. The strip was left over from another card Ill post at a later date. I die cut the flowers with the die and didn’t bother changing the colours. I liked it just as it was. Once it was glued down I just added the peel-and-stick sentiment and the gold strips along the edge of dark stripe. The corners were rounded on the 5x5 card base I used and I rather like that look. You will see the negative of the flowers on another card tomorrow.

Update on the “Don’t Bug Me Quilt” – the top is done!!! Time to put it together and quilt the quilt!!!

Cheers

Violet
