Non-Tradtional Christmas Colours

What a busy week it has been. Finally a few migratory birds showed up and I have several wonderful pictures to add to my albums. I’m posting just a few of my favourites on another posting so scroll down after this one to see them.

Today’s card is for the Merry Monday Christmas card challenge.

This week they presented a sketch. I rather liked it too. Now here’s a hint for you. I was in a hurry to get this card done and I took a piece of two-sided paper and made the diagonal cut and then flipped one piece over. Oh oh! They no longer fit together – duh! So I had to take two pieces of paper, right sides up, and then cut them. Of course, that means you end up with two card bases, which is fine with me. I’ll definitely be making another card like this. The Magnolia image was coloured with pastel shades of Prismacolor pencils so I wanted to stay with the non-traditional Christmas colours. All the paper is from the stash; all dies are Spellbinders. I added a swirly gold sticker down the seam where the two papers meet so to tie that in I used little gold snowflakes around the image and a gold sticker sentiment. To soften the edges of the hand-cut banner I inked the edges with some pink ink.

Cheers

Violet
