What a busy few days we’ve had. Every summer we try to enjoy
it as much as we can because fall and winter comes way too quickly. If I don’t
post for a few days it’s because by the evening I’m just too tired to type!
This morning we walked to our mall and back and Joe had on his pedometer –
almost 8,000 steps. He was shocked but I wasn’t as I knew it would be about the
same as walking through a couple of trails at the park.
We’ve had an unwelcome guest or two in our backyard already
this year. First it was a groundhog and we do believe he’s living in the mess
next door. The trouble with that is he likes to come over to my yard where the
garden buffet is!!! I talked to the neighbour about it a couple of weeks ago
and he said he was going to clean up the backyard to get rid of it. Well, it
took a couple of weeks but he had his friend cut down some of the brush and
weeds. Hopefully now the groundhog will decide to live elsewhere. Whether the
pile of debris ever gets carted away is another thing. Joe figures it will stay
there until it rots. Then the other night an animal squealing and hissing woke
us up and the neighbour on the other side of us thinks it was a possum. We live
in the city people, not the country, but we are on the edge of the city with corn
fields and a river nearby. Always something.
Today’s card is a good one for either a boy or a man.
The stamped image is a Magnolia stamp and it was coloured
with Prismacolor pencils. The fancy square and the other square are from Spellbinder’s
dies. The birthday cake is a QuicKutz die. The paper is from my stash. The
sentiment is from Hot Off the Press. Once the image was coloured I cut it out
and glued it to the top of the cake which was glued to the square.
That’s all for a Tuesday.
Cheers
Violet
