Happy 4th of July to all my American
readers.
It was a beautiful
quiet night last night (no loud music from annoying neighbour) and the
temperature had dropped to a comfortable cool level so I had a great sleep and
was raring to go today! The laundry dried in no time on the clothesline while I
was down in the lower studio getting some scrapbooking done. I have years of
photos to get put into scrapbooks but eventually I’ll get it done, providing I
do live to be 103 as I’ve always predicted! But, if I don’t get them all done,
my girls can finish them. All the photos are printed and waiting to be scrapped!
Do you print your photos or are they all on your camera or sitting in your
computer? I would strong suggest two things – 1) Do a back-up! I have an
external hard drive and it takes minutes to back up all my files and photos so
if my computer ever crashes – or I should say, when, not if, I won’t lose
everything. And 2) if you have your photos on a digital device only and that
one crashes – gone! Or they change or cancel that format – gone! In other
words, don’t lose your precious photos – print them. I send mine to Wal-Mart
on-line and they print 4x6 photos for .19 each, finished within a couple of
hours and the quality is excellent.
End of soap box rant!
Today’s card was made for the Stamping
Bella challenge. This week was a sketch. Here’s my card.
The image was coloured with Prismacolor
pencils and blended with gamsol. Ovals are Spellbinder’s dies. The background
paper was plain white and I sponged some Distress Inks, Mustard Seed and Spun
Sugar, here and there to create a background to match the image and fancy oval.
The lollipop was covered with a layer of Glossy Accents to make it look like
hard candy. The girl’s skirt was sprinkled with the silver eye shadow to mimic
the look of Wink of Stella. The ribbon is from the dollar store. The oval had a
lot of space on it so I added the three gems because that gets the eye moving
around the oval.
That’s all for a Friday. Have an awesome weekend everyone.
Cheers
Violet
