The Hawk!

No card today but I have some great photos of a Broad-winged Hawk to share.  I took these at Point Pelee National Park at the DeLaurier Trail on Sunday. It was a perfect day for a walk and so nice to be out in the fresh air. We were hoping to see a few hundred Blue Jays flying by and even some Monarchs but no Jays and only a few Monarchs were around....the Hawk made up for that.

According to Sarah Rupert, one of the park's staff, these Broad-winged hawks are only in this area for a short time and they are usually soaring high above and they seldom see one sitting on a branch. She requested that I post this on their Facebook page which I will do.

Here are the best four photos of the hawk. For a better look, double click on the photo to enlarge it.

To see other bird and nature postings, just look under "Labels" click on "Birds and Nature" and that will bring up only those postings, skipping cards, scrapbooking, quilts and other crafts.

Cheers
Violet
