A Winter Birthday Card

The nose cold is slowing down but now I have laryngitis. Twice in the past few years I’ve had laryngitis for over 7 weeks – no voice whatsoever. Both times I was almost sent to a nose/ear/throat specialist but the voice started to come back just in time to avoid it. Hopefully this bout will not last as long. Hubby isn’t completely over his cold yet either and its 2 weeks and counting for him. Hopefully he’s not re-catching it from me!

Today’s card is a birthday card for a boy with a winter birthday….another Magnolia image.

The background is from my stash and I liked the stars and the yellow stripes. The image was coloured with Prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol. I had the image glued to the ovals and set it on the background and thought, “There is something wrong…but what?” Then it hit me. The boy looked like his legs were too short for his body and then I realized that he was supposed to be sitting on something. Ooops. I quickly got out some Liquid Pearls and spread it around to look like snow. I added in some blue and swirled it around to give it some dimension. Much better. Dies are from Spellbinders. I like the ribbon dies and use them a lot. I computer generated the label and cut it out to fit inside the ribbon label. The brown ribbons popped up as I took the picture and I didn’t notice it until I downloaded them so I went back and glued them down better.

That’s all for a Friday, March-13-15

Cheers
Violet
