Two Tone Card

It was another beautiful day here today but no bird watching for us. The trouble with owning a home with a large lawn is that you have to be here to cut it. Once the warm weather came and then the rain we had, the grass grew like crazy and it has to be cut twice a week. I did go out and do some of my garden clean-up but didn’t get it all done. I knew if I stayed out there too long I would be too stiff and sore tomorrow to want to do anything.

Today’s card is one that turned out so nice using just two colours of cardstock and the last of my flower peel-offs. I hope to find some more of the flower and butterfly peel-offs at The Dollar Tree as I am out of them.

Once again, all the paper is from the stash. I made the card base out of the blue with the fold at the top. Then I used the lighter blue to make a very large banner (hand cut) and tinted the edges with gold ink. Then I took a piece of both the dark and light blue and ran them through the Big Shot with the Tim Holtz die to get that fancy border. The darker blue was then put through the Big Shot with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder and the raised dots were also tinted with gold ink. By offsetting the two fancy edges, it seems to define that edge a bit. The sentiment is a peel-off and it was glued to the fancy label which was die cut out of the light blue, glued to the dark blue and cut around leaving a small outline. The leaves were die cut out of gold. The flower was stuck to a piece of the light blue and anywhere it was white, it turned blue. These peel-offs are the same as the butterfly ones I used in previous posted cards. Love them. The leaves and flower were added at the end of the sentiment label and the card was done.

That’s all for a beautiful Wednesday night,

Cheers
Violet
