Fall is definitely in the air – the cold air! We had such
beautiful weather for so long and now it’s gone. The cold wind was blowing hard
today and it looks like we are going to get hit with the end of the hurricane
this weekend so no biking or hiking for us. (insert big, big sigh here)
Today’s card is another card using up 6” paper pack paper – cut down
to 5 ½” though. My goal each time I make a card is to first see if I have the
correct paper in my cut paper stash and if not, then paper from a 6” paper pack
rather than cutting into a 12”x12” piece. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
This time I just trimmed a bit off the right side and more off the left side to leave that pretty corner treatment. The banners were hand-cut from bits of left over paper from the same paper pack so they match perfectly. It needed something across the top and as I flipped through the paper pack I noticed some shiny border strips and the dark blue was the same as the blue in the flowers so I used it. The sentiment and little flowers are peel-offs but they started out being silver. I didn’t want silver so I sponged alcohol ink over them to make them light blue.
I treated myself to three new Spellbinder dies today so no need
to guess where I’m heading and what I’ll be doing tonight!
That’s all for a cool Thursday,
Cheers
Violet
What a pretty card violet!!! I just love the color. The way you conserve paper is such an inspiration. Something i will definitely put into practice when i can create again.
ReplyDeleteGo Blue Jays!!! :) Isn't it wonderful when 'your team' is doing well!? :) 'My' team is the Denver Broncos. AND they are doing well this year. This may very well be the Quarterback 'Peyton Manning's' last year as he is quite an old quaterback and i so hope he gets to go out with a bang... But he's got a new coach and a new offensive line...sooooo we'll see.... But so far they've won 3 and lost 0!!
I sent you an email letting you know your postcard arrived but i'm not sure if you got it... What a wonderful , beautiful surprise when i opened my mailbox! :) Such a cute little house.. Home Sweet Home....yes someday it will be... the further along we get in the construction the more it feels like home. :) Stay warm! We are getting a taste of Fall here too..40's at night and 70's during the day.. BEAUTIFUL! Hugs! deb
