The cool weather continues. It’s definitely fall now! My weird
speech patterns continue today along with a little more pain than normal so I
had an easy day so far making cards. This afternoon the Toronto Blue Jays are
playing baseball hoping to go on to the next series so I’ll be doing some more
colouring of stamped images while watching the game.
Today’s card is another dragonfly card. Dragonflies seem to be
very hot right now and luckily I have a few dragonfly stamps.
The background was made by stamping a small dragonfly stamp with
blue ink on blue paper and then inking the edges of the paper. Before it was
glued on to the white card base a dark blue ribbon (Stampin’ Up) was glued down
the middle. I think the ribbon and the dark blue cardstock is Stampin’ Up’s Night
of Navy. The white and dark blue labels were die cut with a Spellbinder's die. The large dragonfly was stamped on white cardstock that I had first given a
wash of ink and then splattered ink on it. Then I stamped the dragonfly again
on velum and coloured the back of the wings with alcohol markers and glued just the wings on at the body only so they are loose. It doesn’t show up very well in the
photo but it’s quite pretty in real life.
That’s all for a cold Wednesday,
Cheers
Violet
