Well
this turned out to be a non-exciting weekend. It was very cold so we had no
desire to go out for a walk……I actually haven’t been out since Thursday! I did a
bit of scrapbooking and I did manage to finish doing the satin stitching on the
raffle quilt I’m donating to the Friends of Rondeau at Rondeau Park for their
annual fundraiser……..and then I got hit with another attack of the brain
disorders and Sunday was the worst day. Today they are less but my speech is
terrible. I repeat words about 6 times at the front of sentences and then I add
about 3 syllables to the end of the sentence. It made no sense to go to quilting
at the church or out for lunch with the Lunch Buddies either. Darn. I was so
looking forward to both. Oh well, another time then.
Today’s
card is another stash buster card.
This
is starburst pattern…..so easy to make and yet they turn out so nice. First cut
a piece of cardstock the size that you want the piece to be. My card base was
made from pink cardstock and is 4 ¼” x 5 ½” so I cut the piece of white
cardstock 4”x 5 ¼” which leaves a slight pink edge. Then cut pieces of paper in
about 1 ½” strips and cut them from corner to corner on the diagonal. Start in
the centre and glue one piece down (you don’t have to start in the centre but I
did on this card) and then start gluing down different strips until the white
is covered, always starting right at the centre. Turn it over and cut off all
the excess….and ink the edges if you like…which I do! For this card I added
silver peel-off strips between each joint and a fancy silver one along the
bottom. The butterfly is also a peel-off and it was mounted on a piece of plain
green and then I cut around the shape and added it with a dimensional glue dot.
The sentiment is also a peel-off. I made another one starting at the left edge
as well but I’ll save that for another posting.
That’s
all for a cool Monday, January-25-16,
Cheers
Violet
you mean I missed your southern speech! lol
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear it was so bad again. Hope you feel better real soon.
Aquafit - No, no southern speech today, just plain weird. You didn't miss a thing as it was annoying to say and to listen to.
