It was a bitter
cold weekend here in Ontario .
So cold in fact that it was colder in Toronto
than in Yellowknife , NWT which is typically the
coldest city in Canada .
By the way, the NWT (North West Territories ) are way up by Alaska . We also had some snow Saturday and
again overnight so two more times shovelling snow. However it is now getting
close to the freezing mark which feels quite balmy after this latest cold spell……although
Joe just informed me we are under a freezing drizzle advisory – nasty! ……… and they
are predicting rain later this week and it could be as high as 50F next
weekend. Such odd weather we are having once again.
It has been too
cold to sit for long in the lower studio (aka the basement) so I brought some
stamped images and my Prismacolor pencils upstairs and I have a lot of coloured
images now to put on cards. Today’s card is a Magnolia image that could be used
for either a birthday or Christmas card. I decided to make this one into a
birthday card.
This little girl
looks like a tomboy and I couldn’t resist colouring her in blue with red mittens
to match the red hearts on her boots……even tomboys like to be colour
co-ordinated! Flocking was added to the
trim on the hat and the puff on the back of the hat and liquid embroidery was
added to the snowball to give it some dimension……double click on any photo to
enlarge it for a better view. I believe that background paper came from a .99,
6” Studio G paper pack from Michaels and I found the white paper with the red
dots in the stash and hand cut the banner. The image was die cut with a
Spellbinders oval die and then glued to another Spellbinders die cut with a
deeper blue cardstock. That same cardstock was used for the hand cut tag which
was trimmed with the same polka dot paper and it was attached with dimensional
tape. I like how this one turned out. The silver sentiment is a peel-off.
That’s all for a Monday, February-15-16 which is called Family Day here in
Cheers
Violet
