Spring
must be coming…..I have snowdrops blooming in the garden! So nice to see.
It was a pretty quiet day here so I ended up with time to post another card. One of my sons-in-law is having a birthday next week so this is the card he is getting.
He
loves history; old ships; castles and sword fighting so I decided this old ship
would make a nice birthday card for him. I found this image on the Internet and
I just coloured in some of the ship and water and left the rest black and white
– lightly dusted on some blue ink with a stipple brush for the sky but it doesn’t
show up well in the photo. For a change of pace I decided to place it behind a
die cut oval (Spellbinders) on the front of the card. First I die cut the oval
out of the lighter blue; then I die cut and embossed the smaller oval out of
the dark blue and glued it behind the larger oval. The ship was then placed
where I wanted it and taped at the back. The tags were hand cut and glued on
top of each other and the sentiment was stamped in dark blue. Men do not like
bows, ribbons and bling but it needed a little something else and those silver
peel-off corner embellishments were perfect for this card.
That’s
all for a Monday, February-22-16
Cheers
Violet
Hi There Violet!
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice 'guy' card. :) Love that you printed it off the internet and colored it. it turned out just lovely. We are expecting some much needed rain and possibly some flurries later this afternoon/evening. We need more than they are forcasting...its been a dry winter... but we'll take anything.. You would think i could finally live somewhere where i wasn't begging for rain! ... but i just seem destined to live in dry places...:( Hugs! deb
