A Quick Card on a Lovely Day

It was yet another wonderful day here in Ontario. The rain never did materialize here even though the barometer went back and our weather unit had an umbrella on all day. No rain expected now until Sunday…….of course, rain for the weekend.

Today’s card is one made with one of my own photographs. Photography is another one of my hobbies.

It would be easy to replace the photograph with a stamped and coloured image if you prefer that method. Don’t forget if you like one of my cards, feel free to pin it to your own Pinterest account for future reference. Just put your mouse over the card and click.

This Yellow Swallowtail butterfly was on one of the coneflowers in my backyard and I just happened to catch him before he took off again. I cut it down to size and ran a black pen around the edges. The background paper was from the stash and I cut two strips, taped them together at the back and inked the edges with Peeled Paint Distress Ink. Then a strip of yellow ribbon was glued down the seam. Before gluing the photo to the finished background glitter thread was wound around the photo and the peel-off sentiment was added. This was a quick card but I really liked how it turned out.

That’s all for a lovely Thursday.

Cheers

Violet

  1. You know i just love it when you use your photography in your cards AND that i've taken up the practice too. I haven't made any cards like that in awhile... Thanks for the quick reminder.... :)

As i was typing this i just caught a raccoon climbing up the bird feeder.... They are so cute with their bandit little faces but a pain in the butt trying to keep out of the feeder... apparently the contraption we put up to keep the squirrels out works for squirrels but not raccoons ... he just went right on up... lol Hugs! deb
