I Won!

I won! I posted a comment on Tim Holtz’s blog about his new dog stamp set – and won a set!!! Whoot, whoot! I love that dog set….and the cat set but I guess I’ll have to buy it! Nothing makes a card maker smile more than a new stamp set....especially when its free!

The lovely hot and humid weather continues but as long as there is a wind blowing, it’s actually very nice. We had a lovely weekend biking and BBQing. Today, even though it was really hot and humid, it was yard work day after lunch. I started out saying I was just going to trim back the tree…..but then I decided the roses needed dead-heading as well…..then everything really needed a good watering…..and of course I noticed some weeds while watering so out came the hoe and down went the weeds. By that time it was 4:00 and I was wringing wet and called it a day!

Today’s card is another one made from digging through the stash.

Don’t forget you are more than welcome to save any cards to your Pinterest account for future reference.

The background paper actually came with those small coloured splatters…..but it needed more texture so out came the new grunge stamp set from Stampin’ Up and the long lines under the sentiment tag and the larger splats were added…but the circle covered up most of one. The green circle was already in the stash but it needed the brown one to set it off…all Spellbinders’ dies. There was a piece of the same paper as the background left over so it was cut to size and mounted on the same green as the circle. The feathers were a gift from a friend of mine and they were glued together and then the skinny twine bow was glued on. The sentiment was stamped in brown ink. I made this one as a possible card for my 17 year old grandson but neither hubby or I liked it for him.

That’s all for a hot and humid Monday, July 11, 2016

Cheers

  1. Love it when you use feathers Violet. I found a small one the other day... just one and i'm trying to rack my brain on how to use it in a card. I don't find many feathers around here. With the feeder and such i thought i would find alot but so far nope... I'd love to find a Cardinal feather or BlueJay... have you ever? Hugs! deb
