It’s
hard to know how to dress to go for a walk this November. In our hour long walk
this morning I think we said, “It’s a bit cold. I wish Id worn a heavier jacket”
and “Now I’m too hot” in every turn we took. If we were out of the wind, it was
quite warm but that wind had a bite to it and because we decided to walk
through a survey there were a lot of corners. We have just one tree left with
leaves – the Weeping Mulberry tree – and it has a tendency to drop about 80% of
its leaves all at once….usually after a heavy frost……which we haven’t had yet!
Some trees, like our birch tree, are bare; others haven’t even started to drop
their leaves yet. Strange November weather for sure.
Today’s
card meets the requirements for this challenge:
This
card was made from two different dies – the Happy Birthday is a Memory Box die
and the little cats are from Impression Obsession dies. These are my latest
purchase – these and some small dogs which are just as nice.
The
Happy Birthday die was used to cut the green cardstock and then two different
pieces of light green were taped together and placed underneath so the fancy
bit shows through the cut-away part. A small silver peel-off was added on the
bottom and then the cats were glued on. The one sitting on the green part after
‘happy’ was added with dimensional glue dots but the other two were just glued
flat. This was then mounted on a piece of black cardstock and then a green card
base. Confession – the cats were die cut from the middle of the black
cardstock. I hate wasting paper or cardstock that is hidden underneath others
so I pretty much always die cut something out of the middle of it.
That’s
all for a cool, but sunny, November 16th.
Cheers
Violet
