This
is the weather we have had here in Southern Ontario over the last week: Above average
and above freezing and sunny; bitter cold and far below average for about 3
days; snow; freezing rain; rain and 50mph winds; back to above seasonal
temperatures today! This is the type of weather that causes people to get sick.
If it would just stay like today until spring it would be wonderful....but 90% chance of rain tomorrow!
Today
I’m posting two variations of a card I made. I actually made about 7 or 8 of
this type of card and some of them, when I photographed them, looked blah and
needed a facelift! Here’s the before card.
The
window frame is a Memory Box die – one of
my favourites. I always put a piece of
plastic from craft packages behind it to give the impression of glass and so
often that is what people will first comment on. The background behind the window is from an old
greeting card. I like to reuse them instead of tossing them in the recycle bin
when ever I can. The wrinkled beige background is from the stash. It was in
with some designer paper I picked up at the thrift store. I liked the look of
it so much I wrinkled some of my own paper for the other cards….sorry, off
topic and I explain how I did that on another post. The sentiment is a peel-off and I
wrapped some gold thread around the card front before gluing it to the white
card base.
I glued on a small
beige flower that came in a pack on sale at Michaels and some green leaves I
die cut. What a difference that made.
ps:
The colours are off because of different lighting but the only thing I changed
to the card was adding the flower and leafy branch.
Here
they are side by side.
I like it so much better now. What about you? Better now
or better plain? I love reading your comments so feel free to voice your
opinion.
That’s
all for a balmy sunny day.....2017-01-11
Don’t
forget you are more than welcome to save any cards to your Pinterest account
for future reference. Simply place the curser over the picture until the
Pinterest save sign shows up in the top left corner and enter. This will take
you to your Pinterest account. If it doesn’t work, please leave a comment and
let me know so I can repair it. Thanks.
Cheers
Violet
