Helpful Snowman

Our string of bad luck continues. Besides me being hit hard by the brain disorders and then a cold and over 7 weeks of laryngitis and Joe having the flu twice we have had a streak of things breaking. So far this year we have had to replace: the tea kettle, the mixer, one smoke alarm and the carbon dioxide detector, the car battery and one computer. We also spent a cold night with no heat because the furnace conked out and had to be repaired. Yesterday the washing machine broke. It was not worth fixing so we had to replace it. The dryer does still work but it is over 25 years old and we decided to replace it now instead of ????who knows? This has been a cold windy week and once again today I'm under attack of the brain disorders. I absolutely cannot wait for spring and warm weather to come. Worst winter ever!  However, as I told Joe, none of the above were life-threatening and we had and have the money to repair and replace all the broken items so we should just count our blessings for that and move on. He has a tendency to stew about things and I absolutely refuse to do so. I don't see the point of it because it doesn't change a thing. He says I see the world thru rose coloured glasses and I tell him it's better then murky grey ones! We balance each other out very well!

So, now that I've vented, on with the posting. This card was made for the challenge at www.alwaysplayingwithpaper.blogspot.com aka "The Merry Monday" challenge. This week we were to make a Christmas card that featured a snowperson. Here's mine:

This snowman stamp was one of the first stamps I ever bought - many years ago - and still one of my favorites. Unfortunately there is no name on the stamp block so I have no idea who made it. I love his sweet expression. I stamped it with Versamark and blue ink and then embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I coloured it with Tombow markers, except for his body. I shaded that with chalk, along with the light blue sky. I then embossed snowflakes around him. The rectangle were die cut with my card creator Spellbinders dies. Love them! I think I'll set this one aside for one of my great nephews.

I'm like you . I tend to see the glass as half full opposed to half empty and my hubby is getting better at it. You just deal with what you have to deal with and count your blessings you were able to handle it and it wasn't worse than it was and move on...Life's to short to stew! :) Lovely card again Violet. I just love snowmen and snowflakes. Hope spring reaches you soon. Hugs! deb
