Botanical Card

The rain finally stopped this afternoon and the sun even tried to come out! It’s been a very wet and rainy three days. We went for an hour’s walk today and it was quite pleasant…very much like March weather usually is – mild but with a cool wind.

Today’s card was made with one of the new Stampin’ Up botanical stamps and die sets but I don’t know the actual name of it because I borrowed it from a friend. We trade stamps and dies throughout the year and I liked this one but have not ordered one for myself…yet.

 

The green was die cut with their longest die and then separated to cover each side of a 5 ½” square card. I think this is the only time I used that die and I’m not sure why. The fern leaves were die cut from the same green cardstock but I added a bit of wine ink over the top to tie them in with the background and flowers. The flowers were die cut from the same cardstock as the background plus some plain pink….the flower and fern leaf dies are from the same set. I added some wine ink to the pink flowers too. Pink gemstones were added to the centre of the flowers. The sentiment is a peel-off.
