Combining Stamps and Die Sets

Yesterday we had a very sunny but cold walk through Rondeau Provincial Park and actually saw 12 different warbler species so it was a pretty good day. It was very late when we finally staggered into the house – lots of fresh air and walking for hours is tiring – and I forgot to post a card. We are switching computers around so I don’t have the new bird photos ready to post yet though. In fact, I have to re-load all my programs on this computer so if I disappear for a few days, you will know I am likely having computer problems.

Here is today’s card.

This card is a combination of the Stampin’ Up High Tide stamp set and a Spellbinder’s fancy die set. The lighthouse and sentiment are from the Stampin’ Up set. I had a piece of watercolour paper that I had splashed various paint on but it was not suitable for a scene so it was die cut with that very fancy tag. The black is also part of the die set and it was glued onto the white card base. I put the fancy die cut piece in my home-made Misti so I could stamp it twice or three times without having to worry about getting it right on. Stamping on water colour paper takes a few attempts to get an even coat. The lighthouse was stamped and cut out leaving an edge and then attached with dimensional glue strips. This could be a nice thinking of you card for either a man or woman going through some tough times. It actually looks nicer in real life than it does in the photo.

That’s all for a sunny but still cool Thursday May 11, 2017.

 Cheers

Violet
