Three Flip-It Cards

We’ve had several days of pleasant weather…except for the cool to cold wind... but tomorrow is rain! We went for our morning walk and at first we were cold; then as we got where the wind was less, we were comfortable; then back out in the open with the sun shining and no wind, we were too hot with winter coats on; then more wind so cold again….and this went on and on throughout the entire walk....hoods up; hoods down; hoods up; hoods down! Oh well, we survived. At least there has been no snow yet.

Today I’m posting three cards because they were all made the same way. They may or may not go to my three youngest grandsons. I haven’t decided yet.

All the cards were made with the Sizzix flip card die set. Great set but I add the extra hinge by placing the end of the paper over the end of the die instead of below it….that way it creases, but doesn’t cut.

Designer paper was die cut using the dies that came with the set. The small squares and square stitched dies come with the set as well. Various stamps and die cuts were used to decorate the squares.
This is the front of the card folded up.

This card is going to the youngest grandson for sure. I added a ribbon and plastic snowman to the front because I found the red a little too much....and he's seven I figured he would like it.

This is the inside; card opened up.

The background was embossed with the snowflake embossing folder and layered on top of the designer paper. The snowman was a sticker but I glued him first to a piece of cardstock to make him more stable as he is added with dimensional strips. The snow bank was just hand cut and glued on.  That piece on the far right was also die cut with one of the dies from the set….lots of dies in this set. The blank space on the inside is for a message.

The outside of Card Number Two. Made with the 13 year old in mind but wondering if it may be too juvenile for him.

Bad lighting! It is a beautiful blue background more like the right side.
Inside and opened:
The inside of this card was made by stamping this snowman (very old stamp) and lightly colouring it. The background was sponged on ink with a mask over the stamped snowman. Watered down paint was splattered on for snow. The sentiment is from another set.

Outside and folded: Card Number Three - maybe for 10 year old grandson but, once again, not sure.

Inside:

This snowman is from an old Inkadinkado set. The background is inked and once again watered down paint was splattered on for snow. The greeting is part of the snowman so no extra greeting was needed.

These cards were not quick to make - lots of die cutting; stamping and inking - but I like making different cards.
That’s all for a cool Wednesday, November 29, 2017.

 Cheers

Violet
