We’re
having lovely above normal temperatures during the day here but pretty cold at
night. This morning we went for an hour’s walk; ate lunch; and went out to Lake
Erie – Erieau, then Shrewsbury to see if we could see sine snowy owls and then
just outside Rondeau Provincial Park to see the rare Townsend Warbler that has
been there for two weeks now….it’s only been seen in this area six times! We
did see about 5 or 6 snowy owls but they were way too far away for a good
picture….and the rare Townsend was not to be seen at all. One fellow had been
there since 9:00 this morning and had not seen it. We are not that dedicated.
We gave it about 20 minutes and left. It was very cold by the lake. Oh well, it
was a nice drive and we did see the snowy owls.
Today’s
cards are a sample of using both negative and positive die cuts.
First
I ran both the blue and white cardstock through the snowflake embossing folder.
Then I used some various snowflake dies to die cut them out of each one. This
set of snowflakes has matching stamps so the holes were the same but I stamped
different patterns on them. They are all embossed with white and sparkling blue
embossing powder and heat set. For the white card I trimmed it a bit and glued
it to the blue card base leaving a nice blue edge. The sentiment was also heat
embossed on a die cut label from the middle of the blue card base. The blue
card was left the same size as the card base and its sentiment was just stamped
on a die cut label. Both labels were glued on with a dimensional strip.
That’s
all for a cool Monday, November 27, 2017.
Cheers
Violet
