A Christmas Card

We’ve gone from freezing cold wind and snow to above freezing and rain! Some of the snow has melted but its going to take a few sunny warmer days to get rid of all of it. One of my great-nephews is an avid snow boarder and luckily for him he lives in Northern Ontario close to a ski resort. He’ll be 14 in January but has been coaching younger kids how to snow board for a couple of years now. Nice kid! His mother was a very good skier until she twisted her ankle getting off the bus for a ski run and it never healed properly which ended her desire to go to the Olympics. Both her boys like to ski; the girls dance!

Today’s card is another one using the Memory Box window die with a recycled Christmas card behind it.

The background shiny paper is from a old 12” paper pack that I picked up at the thrift store…..love people who donate to thrift stores. I think half my crafting supply comes from there. I always put a piece of thin plastic behind the frame to look like glass…usually a piece cut from embellishment packages….why waste it? The ferns were die cut using a Stampin’ Up die out of white and then a bit of Dusty Purple was sponged on here and there. The snowflake was punched and a gem glued in the middle. The sentiment is a peel-off. I love making these cards! It was then glued to the standard white card base.

That’s all for an above freezing but wet Monday, December 18, 2017.

Cheers

Violet
